Doha Academy is delighted to announce that both its Al Waab and Salwa schools have achieved Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) from the Ministry of Education’s ‘School Evaluation Department’.
Following the week-long inspections of Doha Academy Al Waab School in February 2022 and Doha Academy Salwa School in March 2022, the visiting accreditation teams evaluated and measured the schools’ performance based on five Standards encompassing all aspects of the schools’ operational and strategic functioning. The team of inspectors thoroughly reviewed the academic, administrative, managerial and health and safety (physical) standards of the schools.
Both schools have been awarded 3-years’ accreditation for their “commitment to the vision of achieving the principles of the educational system in Qatar, towards consistent school improvement, and quality assurance” (The School Evaluation Department). Both schools were deemed by the QNSA inspectors “able to achieve the required quality standards in school performance”.
The positive impact and clear direction of the schools enabled a most favourable commentary in their report.
Highlights from Doha Academy Al Waab school inspection report include:
- The school provides programs and various activities that support the Qatari identity and Islamic culture.
- The role of the Parents’ Council in school life and its ability to monitor the needs of the school and cooperate with the school administration in solving them is high.
- The school has strong communication and effective partnership with the various community institutions.
- Positive relations between teachers and students.
- Arabic language department teachers have high performance in the application of teaching strategies, which was positively reflected in the high level of language skills among students.
- Celebrating the various achievements of students (academic and non-academic) to encourage a sense of pride in the school.
- Implementation of an effective academic guidance program to raise students’ awareness of their career paths and recruitments of various universities.
- The active and effective role of the student Council in communicating the students’ voices and participating in decision-making.
Upon receiving Al Waab’s notice of accreditation, Doha Academy Principal Mr. Harvey Trump said, “The mission and vision of Doha Academy was fundamental to its success and is clearly embedded in the Schools to ensure the highest possible level of achievement for all ages, from EYFS to Year 13.”

- Strengthening the national identity and Qatari culture, and instilling Islamic values among students.
- Awareness and ability of the school leadership to define its goals and develop appropriate plans to achieve them.
- Implementation of clear, comprehensive and declared policies for the conduct of school work and their positive impact on the management and organization of various aspects of work.
- Effective communication between employees and its positive impact on facilitating the workflow in the school.
- Effective partnership with various community institutions.
- Comprehensiveness of the curriculum and its compatibility with the school’s vision, mission, and goals, with the desired expectations of students.
- Commendations for the teaching of Mathematics and Science.
- The progress and development of students’ performance.
Upon receiving Salwa’s notice of accreditation, Head of School / Accreditation Manager. Mr. Edward Cooper said, “I could not be prouder of Salwa School – its students, staff, and parents – in receiving national recognition for its ability to accurately self-evaluate and demonstrably improve in all areas. We we are delighted to make such good progress in moving Salwa forward in the last 12 months.”
