Doha Academy celebrated its Graduating Classes of 2022
Doha Academy year 12 students celebrated the end of Academic Year 2022 with a graduation ceremonies on Saturday 4th June.
Graduation Day is the culmination of many years of hard work in the British system at Doha Academy. This culminates in the completion of their A Levels and outlines the commitment and success they have had in trying to achieve their potential in a most happy and purposeful community here at Doha Academy. This celebration sees them surrounded by their friends, family, and classmates. It is a brilliant way to highlight the end of this amazing chapter in their life as they aim to become global leaders in their chosen pathway.
Ceremonies involved a march of students, reading of speeches, a Quran reading, the giving diplomas and the official moment when the students were declared graduates. It was an important milestone in our students’ lives, as it marked a transition from one stage of their educational life to another.
Graduation ceremonies were attended by Mr. Harvey Trump (Head and Principal of Doha Academy Schools), Ms. Nora Nestor (Head of Teaching and Learning for All Schools) and Ms. Sdaqat (Head of Secondary), DA schools’ academic staff, parents and friends.
The major part of the ceremony was taken up by the distribution of certificates to all the students and those who also gained recognition for their achievement in specialist subject areas. . It was a moment of pride for a student, as well as the parents.
Ms.Sdaqat Jabeen (Head of Secondary) shared a heartfelt message congratulating the students on their outstanding achievements where they attained a record number of Grade 9’s ,the highest grades possible in the IGCSE’s that are only awarded to the top 2% of all students. She praised both the girls and the boys on their attainment as global citizens who can attain their dreams. Ms Sdaqat rounded off her speech with a beautiful and heartfelt poem called ‘Believing in You’ by Catherine Pulsifer as she felt that it encompassed her wishes for them and their futures.
Thereafter, Mr. Harvey Trump (Head and Principal of Doha Academy Schools), addressed and advised the students to build on the wonderful opportunities afforded to them at Doha Academy in a bid to ensure they truly believe that learning is a lifelong process. He went on to advise them to utilise the twenty-first century skills they have acquired through the excellent learning process and teaching from the fantastic staff at the Academy. It is their application of these skills that will set them apart from others in the future.
The graduation is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible achievements of our students, recognizing every one of you.
While this is the culmination of a great deal of hard work for our students, it is just the beginning of their adventures. We wish them all the success in the world.
