Message from the Vice Principal

I am delighted to introduce myself as Wendy Jones, Vice Principal of the Doha Academy family of schools.

I bring extensive international education and senior leadership experience, with a career spanning British and international school contexts and a strong track record of leading sustained school improvement. My previous roles have included Vice Principal, Head of Secondary, Deputy Principal, Deputy Head Academic and Director of Sixth Form, with strategic responsibility for teaching and learning, assessment, quality assurance, pastoral provision, leadership development and whole-school improvement.

Throughout my career, I have focused on building high-performing school cultures in which expectations are ambitious, leadership is purposeful and improvement is driven by evidence. I have led the development of whole-school teaching and learning and assessment frameworks, strengthened the use of data to inform intervention and improve student outcomes, developed robust systems for quality assurance, and supported leaders and teachers through coaching, professional learning and capacity building. I also bring extensive experience of Cambridge education, accreditation, inspection and external school evaluation.

I am proud to support Doha Academy’s mission to provide our boys and girls with an education for life, within happy and purposeful school communities where every child is empowered to achieve their best spiritually, morally, socially, intellectually and physically.

At the heart of my leadership is an unwavering belief in the potential of every young person and in the responsibility of schools to create the conditions in which every student can flourish. I believe that excellent teaching, high expectations, strong relationships, effective leadership and a clear moral purpose are fundamental to securing both academic success and personal growth.

As Vice Principal, I look forward to working in close partnership with our Group Principal, school leaders, colleagues, students and families to build upon the Doha Academy Group’s established strengths, further enhance consistency and excellence across our schools, and ensure that every aspect of our provision contributes to outstanding outcomes for students.

I am excited to contribute to the next phase of the Doha Academy Group’s development and to our shared ambition of becoming a global leader in providing an accessible, outstanding and all-encompassing education that reflects the principles and teachings of Islam.
