To give every child the chance to be educated is a gift of promise. A gift of wonderment. A gift that opens up possibilities that can transform lives and develop thinkers, leaders, and creators of great art.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where young learners can develop essential skills for future success. We believe in laying strong foundations for lifelong learning by focusing on the following key areas:

  • Following the Development Matters Framework: Using this robust strategy to guide children’s growth and ensure they meet age-appropriate milestones. This framework allows us to tailor our approach to each child’s unique needs, ensuring they thrive in every aspect of their development.
  • Fostering Social and Communication Skills: We provide a variety of engaging activities and opportunities for children to interact with their peers, helping them build confidence, form friendships, and develop effective communication skills.
  • Developing Gross Motor Skills and a Love for Learning: Physical development is a core part of our programme, with plenty of active play opportunities to build strength, coordination, and balance. At the same time, we create a joyful learning environment that fosters curiosity and encourages a lifelong passion for discovery.
  • Introducing the Building Blocks of Reading: Through the delivery of systematic phonics instruction, we lay the groundwork for strong literacy skills. Our phonics programme enables children to understand letter sounds and word formation, setting them up for success in reading and writing.
  • Preparing for the Transition to Key Stage 1: We place great emphasis on preparing children for their next stage of education by nurturing independence, resilience, and self-confidence. Our transition programme ensures that each child is well-equipped to take on the challenges of Key Stage 1 with enthusiasm and success.

Tracking Progress and Partnering with Parents

To ensure each child’s unique learning journey is celebrated and supported, we adopt a portfolio-based approach to track progress. This involves collecting evidence of learning through photographs, work samples, and observations. These portfolios not only allow teachers to monitor growth in all areas of development but also provide parents with continuous updates on their child’s achievements.

Through regular parent-teacher communication, including portfolio reviews, we encourage a strong partnership with families, ensuring they are active participants in their child’s education and development.

Our Commitment

At the heart of our EYFS programme is a commitment to giving every child the best possible start. By nurturing their skills, fostering their passions, and building their confidence, we prepare them for a bright and successful educational journey ahead.
