External Examinations

Doha Academy is proud to be a certified Cambridge and Pearson-Edexcel external examination centre, able to offer our upper Secondary students IGCSE and AS / AL examinations. As an examination centre, students as per our registration policy are able to complete their final examinations at our Al Waab branch. All examinations are marked / moderated in the UK and not in the school.

The school issues specific examination dates, and it should be noted that exams may fall outside of the session ‘titles’ above, e.g. some exams commence in April as part of the “May-June” series.

On this page you’ll find essential information / policies about our external examinations, which parents of students entering into Year 10 – 12 should read.

Further details are outlined in said guidelines / policies, but essential information includes:

  • External candidates cannot sit any examination at Doha Academy; all candidates must be registered Doha Academy students.
  • The exam boards and not the school set the dates for exam registration as well as the date for the exams.
  • Parents should check carefully the registration deadlines for exam entries to avoid late fees.
  • All students must be on time for examinations and only students with verifiable emergency situations will be able to enter an exam late (after which the school is obliged to report the lateness to the exam board who will decide whether to mark the exam or not).

For advice on which exams to register for and when, students should speak in the first instance to a member of the Secondary Leadership team.

For exam registration, students should arrange to meet with the Exams Officer, who can also be contacted via email: exams.officer@dohaacademy.net

The school will update parents / students with key information relevant to each exam session, and we also encourage parents / students to read all of the information herein and check for updates.
